During a recent show, I talked to a 36-year-old divorced mother who’s looking for love.  Like me, this caller was raised by a single mom.  She said that she doesn’t have a blueprint of what a healthy relationship should look like.  So far, she’s taken her relationship cues from romantic comedies.

The conservative side of me answered:  We know what a healthy relationship looks like because we know what an unhealthy relationship feels like.
