If we assume this statement is true …
I wonder what life would be like if we all had happiness all the time.
Like, we didn’t need to wish, work, or pray for it. It was just always there.
In one way, I like the idea.
But I kind of know that we’d probably never grow, evolve, nor do anything worthwhile.
I don’t know about you, but I would never have reached any level of self-truth or release for myself if everything was always hunky-dory.
Some people think suffering is the worst thing that could happen.
But what about all the lessons we learn?
I can’t give you Top 10 Steps For Getting Through Difficult Times, however, I can tell you that tough times can offer you insight back to you.
If you give a crying kid an ice cream cone, it’s likely he/she will stop crying.
For us bigger people, we don’t bounce back or forget so quickly what caused us to cry.
I know some people who spend years whining and complaining about something that happened. I used to be like that. And then, slowly, I began to redirect my attention. I’d asked myself:
- What can I change?
- Is there something I can do to improve what’s happening?
- Do I have power in this situation?
These and a lot of other questions allowed me to think and then behave more constructively.
And constructive thinking is just the beginning of new insight back to you.
