Imagine, strutting down the red carpet, and not wondering, “Does my butt look big in this?”
Self Confidence is Trusting Yourself. It’s believing that you’re better than ok; that you’re good just the way you are.
Self confidence: It starts with a thought.
Yea, that is me to the right. I’m okay posting such an unflattering pic because what I think about me is more important than what you think about me. Of course, that wasn’t always the case but I can’t spend a lifetime worrying about what you think.
Research proves that our internal dialogue impacts the quality of our lives. If you speak or think negatively about yourself, that’s what your life will manifest.
What are your talents? What do you do well?
Start there and build your confidence by playing to your strengths. FOCUS on what you do well and continue to
Say YES to yourself.
I went to college and earned my degree in business/marketing, but I wasn’t happy.
There was something missing, and I always went back to dance.
I realized that money wasn’t everything. I felt empty working on jobs I cared nothing about.
Money became less important the more miserable I became.
While in the office, I didn’t have much confidence in what I was doing, and so I lacked confidence. As a result, I wasn’t great at the job.
But dance is a different story, it’s my story. I’m glad I finally found the courage to say YES to myself.
It wasn’t easy to quit a corporate job, and proclaim with a striaght face, “Yea, I’m going to tap dance for a living.”
I meet plenty of people who live lives they don’t enjoy. If you have a goal, a dream a vision of yourself in the future, don’t give up on it. It is possible. Keep reading blogs like this one and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
- Gett clear about what you want
- Do something everyday towards making your dream a reality
- Imagine how great you’re going to feel doing what you love and getting paid for it
- Give yourself permission to dream big.
- Maintain a positive mindset
- Use your resources
- Ask for advise – ask a tap dancer, etc.
Set little goals so you don’t overwhelm yourself.
Dance on and do what you love. You deserve to be confidently happy.
