The Feeling Good Goal

over the moon in under a minuteMost of the time we just want to feel good.

We search for the right work, because we want to enjoy what we do.
We want a great relationship, because we want to be happy.
We want good health, so we can feel better.
We want money or a new car, because we believe it will make us happier.

But if all this is to feel better, then why not simply make “feeling better” the goal?                                                                                          

Did you know it’s possible to “feel better” without even having the “thing” you thought you needed to feel good? That’s right!’

You can cut out the middleman and be your own endorphin delivery service. Cognitive psychologists use this technique all the time, and it works!
Ask yourself:
  • What thoughts will change the way I feel right now?
  • What’s going well in my life today?
  • What am I really grateful for?
  • What can I do to feel better right now?
Try it. Next time you’re feeling not so on top of the world, harness your feeling good powers.
NOTE: Once you answer thesquestions, you have to sit back and let the beauty soak in. 
Don’t just resume whatever you were doing.
Don’t go back to business  as usual.
You need at least 3 to 5 minutes in this glorious spot. Let it sink it. 
If you’re thankful for a good friend or if your manager at work is being ever-so-pleasant, call, text or IG them to say how much you appreciate them. 

If you’re over the moon because you can comfortably pay your bills, and you know where your next meal is coming from, put your hands up in the air and wave them like you just don’t care.  

Me? What’s my happy, thankful place? Getting the PERFECT parking spot. I won’t valet park which is very popular here in Los Angeles.

Now, I have to tell you: I ALWAYS find parking, and I very seldom pay for it.
My ideal spot is not only free, it’s a corner spot. I’m able to back in, and there’s no space next to me. This allows me to ensure my 1998 Lexus continues to shine ding free. You weren’t expecting that, were you? I know. I know.
